D and T Education is able to offer training and support for schools using SolidWorks Education Edition 2008-2009 via one of our Associate Trainers.

SolidWorks software is a standard piece of 3D CAD software used in 3D design and mechanical engineering worldwide. Commercially it is used for designing 3D objects, advanced part assembly, physical dynamic calculation and surfacing.

SolidWorks Education Edition 2008-2009 includes:

The software has familiar Windows functions like drag-and-drop, point-and-click and cut-and-paste making the software user friendly and includes the following features:

 

  • creates photo realistic images of SolidWorks models
  • includes library of standard parts for assemblies
  • creates AutoCAD® DWG drawings and eDrawings and AVI files of work fro e-Portfolio work
  • File revision histories automatically and allows you to analyse and compare different versions of a design
  • Includes finite element analysis (FEA), Kinematics and motion analysis, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and thermal analysis
  • supports STL and other file formats such as TIFF, JPEG, BMP, STEP, IGES®, SAT (ACIS®), VDA-FS, and Parasolid® files
  • supports several standard 3D interactive viewing formats including: Solidworks eDrawings, CATweb , Viewpoint Experience Technology (VET), RealityWave , Virtue3D
  • Stress analysis with virtual simulation
